THE BUSKERS

As  one of the first portfolio's I made after graduating in 1991 this portfolio will always hold a special affection for me. Inspired by the work of the great photographers Martin Chambi and August Sander my hopes were to similarly document a period of time through a group of folk I'd pass daily. In this case I chose to make a document of some of the musicians and performers "busking" in Glasgow's city centre, Scotland.

This portfolios foundation lies more as a collective linked group of strangers rather than a series of individual sitters.

The portfolio purchased in it's entirety is now housed in the permanent collection of Glasgow Museums and Art Galleries, acquired by the then Director of Museums, Julian Spalding.

In 2015 selected images from this body of work were exhibited at The Scottish Gallery and purchased by Aberdeen Asset Management for their permanent art collection.

This portfolio as a complete set or in part forms a Limited Edition of 50 prints of each sitter, irrelevant of printed size. 1/50

This portfolio is the basis of my TEDx Talk  "WHAT IF...".  June 2017.
